We live in a society where time is precious. Once we stop being a bored teenager, most of us seem to run out of hours in the day a lot sooner than we run out of things to do in those hours. And that applies just as much to creating info products as it does to anything else. If we’re not careful, infos-live the creation process drags on and before you know it, your first product is unlikely to be created in this lifetime.
Fortunately, there are ways to overcome this.
You don’t have to spend months or even years creating your new info product.
In fact, you shouldn’t.
That’s just not a productive use of your time and it may mean that, deep down inside, this is something you shouldn’t even be contemplating. thermn
If the thought of creating your new product doesn’t currently excite you, that doesn’t mean it’s the wrong thing to do, it could just mean that your chosen format is wrong and is cramping your style.
The quickest info products to produce aren’t written ones. It takes me around 30 minutes to type out a page of text and it takes upwards of 15 of those pages to create even a small info product. Which means that a short report would take me the best part of a day to write if that was all I did for 8 hours. Not something that fills me with enthusiasm! Fluxusiptv.
You could use voice to text software to speed up that process or you could dictate your words and have them transcribed.
But the easiest way I’ve found to create info products quickly is to do away with the written word almost entirely, unless it’s a PowerPoint slide or a screen grab. rare-chems
Far and away the quickest way to produce new info products is to use audio or video.
You don’t need much in the way of editing – people aren’t expecting you to have rehearsed everything down to the last split second.
Instead, unless I really fluff something up, the videos and audios I produce are done in a single “take”. If there’s something really nasty in there, I can always edit it. But I generally prefer to treat them the same as I treat real life, where you can’t rewind and try again! world-arms
People react well to this kind of approach and actually learn at least as much if not more than they would from some super-slick production.
